چکیده
Abstract Recently, new materials and methods have been implemented to improve the performance of reinforced concrete columns. This paper studies experimentally behavior high-strength columns, with additional internal confinement using hexagonal chicken wire mesh (HCWM) enhance ductility, energy absorption, ultimate strength reduce brittleness traditional Eight double-ended one-third-scale columns different volumetric ratios transverse rebar constructed loaded under uniform axial compression lateral cyclic loads. Different were provided based on special, intermediate, ordinary moment frames specifications ACI 318–14 (named SD, ID, OD, respectively). The specimens confined by rebars HCWM results compared reference ties. Experimental findings demonstrated that exhibited better their control concerning crack efficiency, load capacity, dissipation, failure modes. Implementation increased deformation, absorption OD up 21%, 50%, 175%, respectively, specimen. Confinement ID 15% 22% load, but has a negligible effect SD due enough ratio longitudinal in specimens. As result, could be regarded as simple effective method seismic characteristics RC particularly those members minimal number rebars.

Experimental Evaluation of Performance Criteria for Reinforced Concrete Beams under Cyclic Loading
To assess the performance criteria of the reinforced-concrete, five-storey residential buildings common in Iran, an
experimental study in the structural laboratory of the University of Tehran has been conducted. The test program includes cyclic and monotonic load tests of six beams that represent three-to-five storey buildings with rigid frame structures. Using definitions given in FEMA-356...

متن کاملBehaviour of Reinforced Fibrous Concrete Beams under Reversed Cyclic Loading
When earthquakes occur, energy released by the earthquake gets induced into the structure as ground motion and this energy has to be dissipated for safety reasons. To release seismic energy, the structure should damage in such a way that on one hand, collapse of structure should not occur and on the other hand, after the earthquake, damage should be economically feasible to repair. To avoid the...
متن کاملAxial Compressive Strength of Reinforced Concrete Columns Wrapped with Fiber Reinforced Polymers (FRP)
This paper presents the results of a study on the axial compressive strength of columnsstrengthened with FRP wrap. The experimental part of the study included testing 6 reinforcedconcrete columns in two series. The first series comprised three similar circular reinforced concretecolumns strengthened with FRP wrap. The second series consisted of three similar square columns, two with sharp corner...
متن کاملMechanical Behavior of Hybrid Fiber Reinforced High Strength Concrete with Graded Fibers
Brittleness, which was the inherent weakness in High Strength Concrete (HSC), can be avoided by reinforcing the concrete with discontinuous fibers. Reinforcing HSC with more than one fiber is advantageous in an overall improvement of the mechanical performance of the composite. In this experimental study, Hybrid Fiber Reinforced High Strength Concrete (HyFR-HSC) mixes were formed by blending si...
